So I just picked up a 1997 chevy 3500hd 7.4 4wd 34' bucket truck for work at an auction. It has 194k on it and is an ex-utility truck. I drove it home 100 miles today and it seems a little sluggish pulling hills, and has a rough idle at stop lights, enough that I am worried it may die without feathering the gas with my foot on the brake.

It had the check engine light on and I pulled to codes...all 5 of them. So looking at these is there anything that they have in common that may be causing all or most of them or am I looking at all this crap needs replaced?

p0102-mass air flow circuit low input
p0171-system too lean bank 1
p0131-o2 circuit low voltage bank1,sensor1
p0137-o2 circuit low voltage bank1,sensor2
p0151-o2 circuit low voltage bank2,sensor1

Also it is a straight axle up front and by the looks of the front tire I will be needing balljoints, any idea of what axle this has? Driver side drop if that helps

if oil filter AKA k&n type clean off the oil on the mass air sensor .

and 96-00 style vortec motors eat o2 sensors at least in my area of the country .

there is pin-point tests for each code to help find the problems.

and those axles used were ford driver drops modified to fit the gm 3500hd frames.

also here is a site for them . I have seen a few other threads over the years with this link posted http://3500hd.com/index.php?topic=349.0
