yeah I know it's a toyota but I need help picking what set up to do.

I have an 81 toyota with a blown 22r in it my options are as follows:

put another 22r in it $300
put a 20 r in it $300
put a chevy 4.3 in it, more power and smaller then a sbc $700 (plus time for mounts and fab work)

put in a 350 same as 4.3 but would have to add some lift to help the weight.

all the above would keep the toyota tranny and t case just run a chevy motor

or I can do a full chevy swap with a 350-465-205 I have. but I think the weight is a killer and the time with all the fabbing of the mounts.

so I think I just answered my own question with a 20 or a 22 r swap.

heres some specs.

35's 4.10's 3" lift and plenty of trimming going with a set of 64's in the rear and rears up front. off road only once I finishing my tapering

stick with the toy 4 cyl. Lot less work, and if taken care of they last forever.

thats what I'm thinking. just get a 20r( with a 79 truck)or the 22r(with an 81 truck) that bruce has. both are 2wd's but all i want is the motor then maybe some small stuff like making half doors and extra fenders to play with for my taper job.

then slap a cam and header in it :)
