What's up guys, I was wondering how you guys feel about a cowl hood and a visor? I cannot decide if they will look good together or look like too much...

And before some of you go off on me, I personally like visors on these trucks:crazy: I feel like they definitely fit the 80's styling an compliment the looks of a 4x4.. So I kinda want to keep it. And
my stock hood is really sun baked and has a dent in the crown, so I'm not sure if I should temporarily get it fixed and painted black, or just get an aftermarket cowl.

My entire "theme" for building this truck is to keep it old school with a modernized 80's look.. (roll bar, visor, blue with the white top) but also have it sort of hot rod themed.. Auto meters, nice seats, healthy small block, nice wheels and potentially the cowl... So let me know!

Thanks guys!:waytogo:

Lol, I guess I could post a few later! But it's nothing special.. It's a 67 Camaro my father paid $900 for in 74.. Me and him had been tinkering with this car since I was just a toddler lol.. It's been a big part of my life and it doesn't even run yet.... and never has as long as I can remember...:doah: But it's really close to being done now, so hopefully sometime this year for the 50th anniversary!

But anyways, thanks for the input about the hood! Always better to have a second opinion

Never a fan of either visors or 'cow' hoods...visor mounts introduce a rust through area. K5's don't need more problem rust areas IMO.

Agreed. I always see visors as the starting point for rust and a target to get torn off by limbs while trail riding.

I like the look of both together on a square body. 1 of my crew cabs had both. It's OK if you stop there, but adding a bunch of other things like flares and them weird angled behind the cab things gets to be gaudy

Edit: Found a pic

...why does it matter what we like? It's your truck.

I like the look myself, as long as cowl isn't outrageously tall.

Thanks for all the reply's guys! & sorry for the super late response, I have been beyond busy with college lately:crazy: But I guess I'll decide if I like it or not when I take it off to get the truck painted down the road.. I personally like the old school look, but I'm trying to build it with hot rod styling. And not sure if visors and cab lights fit that bill.. So all I can say is time will tell! Here it is currently..... decisions decisions! And good looking crew cab Shady!

Thanks.... It looked awesome but was a complete peice of chit lol. Cobble job PO crap everywhere. That blazer of yours is NICE!

Not a fan of the visor, there have been a few trucks i have seen with the cowl hood looks right but more of them that it just look out of place . but as mentioned before they look great on a chevelle, also prejudice since i own one.

looks good as is...imo

I'm not normally a fan of the visor look, but I had an S10 w/ cowl hood and visor (came that way) and I actually thought it looked good.

If you ever get rid of that moonvisor, please let me know, I actually do like them.

My silver Dodge has had a Lund sunvisor since it was brand new, and I specifically remember this truck when I was 5 or 6, being a silver extended cab Dodge with a sunvisor.
