Wow what a pain that was! It took me and a buddy like 3 or 4 hours to drop, mostly because we didnt know what we were doing. Anyways, we just used 2x4's a couple jacks and jack stands and we finally got it all on the ground. 2 problems. the exhaust is in the way and I don't see anything else I can do but cut the sob. Even after I do that I still don't know how or if it will slide out. Tranny and transfer case are currently on the ground though!:D The motor is not installed, so when I go to get the tranny rebuilt, should I get anything upgraded or a stall. I am putting a rebuilt 350 with some mods and plan on getting 4.10 gears just so it will have pep. No major offroading, just enough to get it dirty. Also should I have transfer case rebuilt or not? I doubt it has been used very much because under the truck is in fantastic shape, very clean, no damage etc. Thanks for the help.

Lift the back end of the vehicle up as high as you can support with jackstands and slide the tcase and tranny out from under the vehicle. If that is what you are referring too as exhaust in the way.

When ever you rebuild a tranny a new torque converter is a smart bet.

On the Tcase I would put new gaskets in it and look at it for any wear. I don't know what Tcase it is so if its chain driven a new chain might be in order.

I am talking about how the exhaust is directly under the tranny so I cant get it out by slinding it to the side of the truck. Lifting the rear may work, but I'm not at the truck right now so Im not sure. I don't know what transfer case I have either(stock?). I am taking it to one of Teck's friends who seems to know alot about the 700r4. I just hope when I put it back in, I will be able to properly adjust the tv cable and have everything else correct. The last thing I am doing is driving this truck when it isn't "right"
Edit: I bought some u-joints for my 1999 mustang but I wrecked it. Could I use those on the blazer?

Sounds like you just have the Tcase out and on the ground and the tranny still up in the air?

I always take them out separately. On the tranny I usually have to slide it to the rear of the truck then it will fit between exhaust. You may have to take the exhaust loos at the hangers in the back and maybe at the manifolds too so it will squeeze between.

both are on the ground still attached to each other I'm pretty sure tranny is sitting on the exhaust lol
