took the plunge, gone Veggie!

Im acutally getting it from a Asian Bar/lounge. THey only fry like tempora, and the chef is finiky about his oil, so he changes it every two days.

The other place, is a american bar/pool place, but the oil is fried a lot more, its dark caramel colored. Works the same, smells totally different in the exhaust though.

a 4 gallon jug is the usual size for 1 bottle- a 35 lb jug.

More updates-
So Im back, I got back about 2 weeks ago. I had loaded up my tank with about 15 gallons of veggie to about 15 gallons of diesel. No problemo, Drove down to meet CRAZY427 for some headers for my k5, and also to meet Stickseler (IN VA!!!!) who was so kind as to donate a 31 gallon gas tank for my conversion project. THANKS MAN! Of course, that drive chewed up a lot of miles (and also fuel- Driving at 75 eats up a lot of fuel!). Had to get a fill up.
Back in NY, I filled up again, with another 20 gallons of veggie. IM OUTTA OIL! HELP.

So at least here's what I know so far:

Filter well- Even the CLEANEST of oils have little particles in it. Even though Im using cone filters designed for filtration, I am uncertain of its micron rating- I'd say somewhere between 30-50 micron.

For a comparison of filtration, look at this chart. It will give you an idea of how much filtration is needed.

Preferred oil sources are:

Vegetarian Places- No animal fats!
Asian Cuisine (Preferably Japanese)- they use very light frying techniques, yielding in much cleaner, lighter oil sources.

Try to find places that dont have floating food bits swirling around in it- Some is normal, but if you find nuggets and such, Keep on lookin.

Mcdonalds would be an excellent source, except that getting access to their oil container is kinda difficult- so is transporting 35 gallons worth. Im working on it though, Maybe I should start snappin some pics!

at 60-65 I can get around 20-22mpg. Depends on the oil type, Im running mostly soybean- I think canola has higher energy output. Running at 75.. well... lets just say 16ish is about right with 30" tires and 4.10 gears.
