Hi my name is Jeff and I have a problem with tools.
I can't pass a toolstore without stopping, even, I hate to admit, Harbor Freight. I thought Sears closing would be a good thing but now I am shopping ONLINE! I found my self at a low point last night with $1500 in my cart at Sears.com! they have a wonderful sale going on right now 50-60% off! I can't seem to help myself, I know I am not as bad in as you poor Snap-on truck Addicts but in some ways I am worse off because my addiction is hidden from all but prying eyes. You should see the looks I get when the poor UPS guy has to unload one of my binge tool orders! And I think I might get more soon as it's tax season and I have been able in the past to get lots of goods without the wife knowing until the insurance bill comes and she notices it went up, have to protect my stash!
So if you have the same sickness as me and maybe we can help each other out by passing on the good deals so we can all hope to have the ultimate golden tool chest full of the best tools.
Your friend in the struggle,
Jeff

Lately I've been buying Milwaukee cordless tools. I also inherited my dad's big tool box that I remember from when I was a wee child.

I also like perusing ebay for the original Kent-Moore tools that the old service manuals spec out for different jobs. If I had a lot of money, I would be more proactive about collecting them. Now I just look them up when I have a project and decide if I think it's worth the cost.

I feel like tools are an investment so spending money on them doesn't bother me as much. What sucks is when you do get tools stolen and the insurance company prorates them and you realize how hard it's going to be to recover your collection.

Speaking of buying tools, I need to get one of those flex head 3/8 ratchets.
