(yes.. those are heeps)

naw I aint never had a problem w/ that, i bolted mine down to the bed and didnt use the J hooks that came w/ it. Does it pop open even if you lock it w/ the key?

sometimes....yes. I think I went for a while there where I locked it and had no problems....then I trimmed my front fenders and added zero rates....see where i'm going with this...?

Your box is twisting with the frame!!

Momma always said I was special.

Have you had problems with it ON the road?

Can you just screw in a hook & eye setup while wheeling?

Duct tape?

You are not alone! Mine does it locked or unlocked, but I have to flex it a little more if its locked. I had just come down off that rock in this one. I haven't addressed the problem yet though. Ended up just laying that 42 I'm carrying on top of it. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Some cool chrome ( BLING BLING ) hood pins would keep it closed /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

You could also get some kind of hasp , and padlock to lock it and keep the lid closed /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Maybe think about mounting one or two of these things:

It would still keep it closed while allowing the lid to move around a bit.

In fact, if you're going to be flexing it a lot, it would be better for the hinges if you have it latched with a flexible mount rather than a solid mount.

thanks for the great idea! I dont know why I didn't think of that? there's a truck supply place in town that might have them. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

my box is by weathergaurd and never opens. I have a k30 though and it doesnt twist as much as the half ton frame. I like those jeep like hood straps that is what I would use if it starts to happen
