hey, i work at sears and i get a 25% discount on all tools and tool boxes. my little 3 drawer box has been good to me but i want something way bigger. i dont want to spend over 300bucks after the discount, so if you have a nice box please let me know if you like it and recomend it.

Also are the ball bearing boxes worth the extra dough? as well as the quiet glides thanks

i think they are worth the extra dough, but i also bought a snap-on, but i think the ones with the ball bearings have less drawer problems, and will last longer. and i hate when i cant get the drawer on the regular style to slide in or when it cocks at an angle before it goes in, the ball bearing ones dont do that.

i agree. if your going to be using your box everyday like i am, spend the extra money and get a good one cause when the cheap one f***s up your going to be mad. pretty much all the tool companies make good boxes and the craftsman boxes w/ the ball bearing grip latch are decent boxes for the money as well. if you are worried about resale value i would go with one from a tool company because they seem to hold their value better than craftsman boxes do.

i just really want to get a craftsman box since i can get that 25% discount. im just working at sears for the summer and im not taking my new box there to work with me. i just want a nice decent box. so with a 25% discount i could get around a $450 box. it will just be home use when i get it.

oh okay. if its home use a craftsman box would be great. i would spring though for the ball bearing grip latch because the one that don't have ball bearing go sideways sometimes when you open them or close them

Ball Bearing Griplatch. Once you load those drawers with tools, then open & close'em a few times, you'll never want to go back to Quiet Glides again.

I fell ass-backwards into a smokin' deal on this box at my local Sears this summer - $150 for a $450 box. Not a damn thing wrong with it; nothing bent, nothing scratched, nothing.
Ordered this full-depth mid-box from sears.com to go with it; arrived severely dented, but functional. No way I'm paying full price for damaged goods, so I returned it to the store and got my money back. 3 weeks later it's still sitting in the clearance area for 25% off ($199 original price), collecting dust. Offered the department manager $100 cash, he accepted. Took it home, 10 minutes with a dead-blow hammer and a chunk of 2x4 straightened it out to "good enough".

yup, my KRL works better the more weight ya put in em... I've opened old Crapsmen boxes with a ton of weight in the bottom drawer with crappy slides, no thanks...

i have cratfsman the ballberring are ok for a home guy like me but if you work the tools all day you need a better box

here is my box...i paid a little under 6 a few years ago for it..still holding up great no complaints at all and it does have ball berings...also make sure the deep drawers are double hung...
