Is there a puller for the serpentine pulley on a Delco 35si alternator. I want one that goes around the ribbed portion of the pulley itself. A split or multi-jaw puller damages the fan so I want to be to pull against the pulley itself.

Bust nut loose.
Run nut down. smack with hammer while holding pully

If it aint poppin loose order a new one.
Use never seize so the next guy can get it off.
I won't waste time trying to remove those.

A customer can buy 3 pully's in the time it takes to remove one.

agreed... try a bearing splitter if you must remove... snapon cg951 or the like

Agreed but the powers that be at work veto me on this....along with please don't wreck the core

Seems like most of the time the nut siezes solid and removes most of the threads. If I can get the nut off without destroying something then I use a big three jaw puller if the pulley still has enough meat left because it's easiest, if not then a bearing splitter and a press does the job. All in all I have about a 50% success rate and about half of those the alternators puke within 10-15k. Needless to say I try my damndest to sell a new alternator rather than waste that much time.
