I bought a new box today...and its magnetic....and it has raised white letters on the wheels. No I have not mic'd the sides to see how thick the steel is. Delivery happens on saturday. The Cornwell guy has had it on his truck since aug 1 and really wanted it gone. The price dropped from $4100 to 2100 today.

And yes its yellow

For the price, I doubt I would have passed it up. You got a hell of a deal. Cornwell still makes professional boxes.

RAD! thats a great deal, I have never seen their tools or boxes but I bet its a great box. For that price I would have been all over it. Actuall a bud had a3 drawer Cornwell tool cart, its really nice. I dig the Yellow too, good for you. A new box is just bitchen, its a big ticket item that you dont buy everyday, so its like getting a new car, or dirt bike, something like that.

wow I was unaware Cornwell put 3 sets of casters on that box. How long is it?

3 casters, thats cool, My 96" incher Snap On could use those extra center wheels. I dont know how much weight is in it but its packed full.

Its 58 wide and about 24 deep and about 40 tall. I'm loving the top wide drawer, I have almost all my socket sets in it and still have some room to stack more in there.

Guessing you mean a "Classic 96". Doubt Snap-On makes a 96" box that doesn't come with 3 sets of casters, but I know the Classic 96 doesn't.

DOH :doah: Im a dummy, I dont know why my box was a 96" inch box, Its a 72 in box, I just double checked it. I could use a 96" inck box, as my box is at full capacity.

that 3 wheel setup is funny to handle if you dont expect it...
i took a cornwell on trade and when i rolled it in my garage, it got up on the 2 sets of wheels and the 3rd one was in the air, i was like, WTF?? lol

Yea when I unload triples off my truck that usually happens. Kind of scary when you are maneuvering a heavy box that just fits with a little breathing room 4 feet off the ground. Suddenly it pitches towards the ground :eek1:

I need to get a new rollaway toolbox soon and I was looking at the ones from Husky at the local Home Depot today. Anyone have any feedback as to how well those ones are quality wise? Would it be a good idea to buy one or would it be a better idea to buy a name brand setup? Thanks in advance.

Scott

using it for a living? There is definetally a lower quality versus a Snap-on or Matco box. But you pay less for them. And if you aren't using it everyday of your career then it begs the question, why do you need it? Of course you could always hunt for a used brand name box and maybe get one for a similar price.
