I don't know what year this started, but my '90 has the rear seatbelts attached to the removable top. What do you guys do with them when the top is off? Only options that I can think of for retaining those belts when topless is to attach them to a cage (which I want to install anyway), or to instal rear lapbelts and ditch the shoulder strap. Maybe a 4 point setup attached to a cage:1zhelp:

I just let my passengers know that they have to fight over the center seat if they want to have a seatbelt :D. But seriosuly just swap in som lap belts, it's easy to do.

If I remember correctly that started in 1990. My '90 has them also. I take the top off every summer for about 5 months straight. I just unbolt the seatbelts from the floor and leave them attached to the top. I've done it the other way once (taken them off the top and left them in the floor) but won't do that again. They are kind of a pain to take on and off the top.

And yes, you end up with only one seatbelt in the center that way. You'll have to get lap belts at that point. Aftermarket lap belts are fairly cheap. LMC Truck has them for about $17 each.

Not to start anything, but I remember seeing on here, along time ago, people talking about the shoulder belts that bolted to the top. In a rollover, that top pops off(that vid of blazer on lionsback I believe shows the top pop off), and the shoulder belt can, in a word, remove, parts of you that shouldnt be. Any truth to that? I dont remember the outcome of the thread, seems as though it was in the first yr of my membership.

I used the seatbelts outa K-10 P/U for my rear seat in the '73. They worked fine. My $.02 worth.

i got a bunch of black lap belts if anyone needs any. $5 plus the ride.

Yeah, it should be on the 90-91's because my 89 does not have that system. Thank God... one less thing to have to jack with. ;)

Do a search, someone on here (bigyellowjimmy?) with a yellow first gen fabbed up some mounts to attach to the roll cage for front seat lap/shoulder belts, I don't see why it wouldn't work for rear as long as you have a cage. I'm going to weld some brackets front and rear to mine when I replace the bench in back with two buckets.

That would be TONYP that made his own shoulder mount brackets.
