I replaced my side windows on my topper, I went from the sliders to solid glass. I did NOT replace the seal, now ive got water coming around the bottom back corner of that window, I cant see how its getting in.

1) SHould I just replace the seal and hope for the best

2) Can I put some silicone somewhere? considering I cant tell where its coming in at, other than the back bottom corner of the window

3) another thing else I should check for.

THanks

I would say you need to replace the seal. It may be leaking in in one spot, but it could be running along a channel for several inches first.

Why did you get rid of the sliders?

I think the slider and soild glass windows take a different rubber seal. The slot is probably a different size so it is not sealing up enough.

My sliders never opened, the tracks or runners were so screwd up that it took an act of god to be able to slide them. Plus I wanted to clean up and streamline the look of my truck, etc.

I checked LMC and the only two different seals they list is just one without tint and one with, they dont say weather its for slider or solid.

Does anyone have direct GM part numbers or schematic that I can check out. Dealership closed today so I cant check with them

I think the tinted ones are thicker. I know the new ones I put in were thicker than the factory glass was.

if your top is still white and not custom paint you might want to check craigslist. A lot of people are ditching the tops. You may be able to find a hole other top for free or cheap.
