Taking them out is the easy part. How hard is it to put them back in? Any special tricks?

If you using the old rubber you need an old priest and a young priest. New soft rubber it was easier to do the rope trick like for a windshield. Kinda hard to explain but put a small/soft/strong cord/rope in the rubber channel, get one lip in and while a friend holds up the glass you pull the rope from the inside pulling the rubber through. If that makes sense. There are probably other ways to do it but it works. The softer and more flexable you can make the rubber the better.

if ya run into a snag or somethin feel free to shoot me pm. its pretty self explanatory on how to do it tho

Don't know if this will help...

I used to own a bunch of VWs back in the day... Window is held in the same way...

And I used to put the rubber seal in a tub and pour boiling water on it and let it sit until it was cooled down enough to handle without getting burned...

Then used the string trick...

Worked great...

This is the one currently on my topper now. Looks like its missing the cord isn't it?
