Torn Body Mount

Well, I have been having this squeaking problem on the rear passenger side of my truck when going around turns. Upon further investigation I have found the rear body mount has been ripped from the frame. I have poly mounts and the ORD 1" body lift. It looks as if the puck had been pushed into the boxed tube part a bit the ripped from there. Anyone got any ideas on where I went wrong to cause this? How do I fix this problem now? Hate to have to swap cabs or something

Its probably caused by the poly body mounts. They stiffen everything up but they also force the body to flex with the frame.

I had trouble with my mechanical clutch linkage many moons ago and installing poly body mounts solved that problem. For about 2 years. Then the body started ripping apart at every seam on the whole truck and the body was able to move around enough that the clutch problem reappeared. That's when the truck got cut up.

Wheelin' is hard on these poor old trucks, breaking that body mount isn't all that surprising IMO.

P/U cab?? Mine was cracking at the rear mounts, so before it got to that point, I went under there with a big piece of angle Iron and put it all the way across, so that it spread the weight out better.

Yea I was thinking of fixing it with a piece of angle bolted and welded into place. Still what a hassle. Why cant my truck be bullet proof?
