Has anyone had any experience with these types of products? If you don't know what I mean it basically looks like a pop can with the ends cut off and some slotted fins inserted inside of it. The idea is that it changes the airflow into the carb and thereby increases fuel mileage and horsepower. It all sounds to good to be true and for the price they're asking ($60) I'm not willing to take a chance on it. Thanx for any info.

good for restricting airflow more than anything i'd venture to guess... ;)

but wait, the tv infomercials said they work...

:D :haha:

send me $50.00, and i'll send you something even BETTER than a Tornado...

a note that says i just screwed you out of $50.00, that way at least you're not being lied to. those things are crap.

Yes... I mean no... right? Left?

Seriouslly, just no. Think of this, the "swirling" effect is pre intake, pre throttle body(or carb in this case). The barrels of a carb, the throttle blades, and the intake runners all, STRAIGHTEN air flow. It is what they do. The only place you should really care about swirling air is in the combustion chamber. So save your money for some Vortec heads :D

Hahaha if I'm looking at the 'Tornado' I'm not really in the financial situation to be buying and instaling vortec heads. But its a nice thought. Oh well a guy can hope.

poor mans tornado

Hey man you can, like, cut off the end of,like,a pinwheel you know dude, and put it on top of your Edelbrock and totally double your horseypower.Seriously,I saw it on tv.

But seriously. A local news guy did dyno tests on one of these things and there was no measurable benefit.

i bet if they were chrome it would give an extra 20hp :haha: :haha: :haha:

22.357 hp to be exact. dirtwarrior's brother's friend's sister's boyfriend's dad's second cousin-twice-removed's son-in-law by his first marriage's brother's grandad's illigitimate son's half brother's stepson did the dyno testing i think.

I don't remember where, but I saw a website where they dyno'd one on a cobra and it actually decreased the HP.

I can't remember the month but Popular Mechanics just did a dyno review of all these "miracle mileage" devices recently....

They all failed to increase and many actually decreased mileage....
