Torsion Bar removal

Can you do this without the special tool? I am thinking that a big C clamp would work. A guy on E-bay screwed me so now I am stuck needing one this weekend and not having the right tool. Any tricks to getting them out without the tool?

What's the application? Never heard of any torsion bars on 73 to 87 2 or 4wd GM trucks.

I have gotten away with using a 10 Ton two jaw puller before. A 7 Ton will not do it. I would suggest getting the correct tool for this one though. TB can be very dangerous if not treated with respect. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif
