What would the ballpark be, for dropping and bagging a square-body C10?

Like, if you had a decent runner, and you just wanted to drop it on bags. :dunno:
Nothing super special, just bare bones, lowered truck.

My friend has access to a decent mid-80's C10.
Says he wants to bag it.

Problem is, neither of us really know what to expect, budget wise.
Can you run a York compressor for the OBA tank, like we do?
What's a good set of bags cost?
Other things to consider?

It's just a brainstorm at this point.
When he asked me, I got curious....

Thanks in advance. :thumb::popcorn:

you can buy full bag drop kits for like a grand built for that truck. cant remember the company but they are out there. looked into one my self

Pretty sure Chris Alston/ Chassisworks had or has a kit. They sell it under a different brand name but I used to see it in the back of their catalog. It was a bit more but complete with all the weld in crossmembers, trailing arms, etc, and the major fab work was already done.

You can get away cheap in the rear by stripping out the rear leaves to just the main leaf and running bags for spring rate.

Not sure how low it will go without notching the frame in the back though.

Not low enough to justify bags :D:D If your going on bags how low are you talking. Its the same with lift height if you wanna go low its gonna cost ya.

I gave a guy a quote some time ago to completely redo his suspension on a 79 c 10 shortbed. Turned out being like 3k. But that was everything redoing the suspension new bushings everywhere new control arms c notch plumbing all the lines etc etc etc.

There are kits out there and I was just going to use a kit it was close to an even split on parts and labor

I was just looking at 4.5"/6" drops (F&R).
$600 to drop the truck that low seems fair.

As per bags, I think he was thinking more ride quality, than "framing it out".
Again, I have about an hours worth of google research, as my only lowered truck experience.

For the rear you can do a spring under conversion along with some lowering shackles.
