I am in the process of installing a 4inch shackle flip and front springs in my '89 GMC jimmy and was wondering if anyone had the tourque specs for the ubolts, spring eyes and front and rear shackes? Thanks for any help.

If I remember right the u bolts on a 1/2 ton are 85lb/ft, the sway bar eye bolts are 90lb/ft. Don't remember the shackle ones.

Thanks for those ones, anyone know the shackle bolt torque ratings? Or some tips on where I could find them?

Oh and im also replacing the steering arm so how about the specs for the three bolts that hold it on and for the nut that holds the pitman (?) arm to it? And does anyone have any tips as fas as removing the steernig arm, las time I did one I remember it was a real struggle to get it off:mad:

Thanks for the link Cegusman, lots of good tips on there. Damn Big pappa that sounds like a lot of torque for u-bolts!

I like things BIG :D

BIG motor = 454
BIG tires = 39.5"
BIG axles = D60 & 14B FF
BIG U-bolts (5/8th") = BIG torque

:haha: :haha: :haha:

I remembered wrongly...sorry! My '78 book says 120lb/ft and my '91 book says 150lb/ft.
I should have remembered as I only did it a few months ago. Sorry!
