I need to put some hooks on the front of my junk. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif Heres the prob, I can't find any factory hooks so I bought some aftermarket ones. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif With the stock front bumper they won't fit right on the frame. So what have you guy's done to mount your hooks. I don't want to cut my front bumper up. It will be changed soon enough. But unfortunatle I need my tow points now. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

I have some factory tow hooks, but I think they are off a later model truck, 87-on truck body. I am fairly local to you, I am in Fremont.

well, i had this issue, only in the rear with a reses hitch, i wanted a rear recovery point, and i dont have a step bumper, anyway you could drill new locations for the bolts of the tow hooks, personally i like the factory ones /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, but have you checked all your pick-and-pull places, those places usually have stuff like that on their trucks, but that is just what i'd do. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I put a hitch on the front. I took a Reese off of something fullsize that had a 2"receiver, cut it down and welded in the rails. I have a body lift so it comes out just below the bumper w/ no "air dam". On a rig w/ no body lift you could just cut a hole where it comes thru. front receiver

Try making an attachment point out of some channel or similar metal. Then bolt you tow hooks to it

Maybe you could post in the "Parts Wanted". I know a few people have these laying around in the Garage.

Had the same problem. Fabbed some spacers out of 1/2" plate. Cleared the bottom of the bumper by about 1/4".

I found some down the street from my house at JT Truck Center for $25. They bolted right up. I've been recovered with them by Blackbear (Zakk's rig) once and they worked fine. Took a good yank too.
I could pic them up if you want. If they have anymore.
