My K5 didn't come with front tow hooks. I've done alot of research on here & looking in junk yards to see what will work best for my K5. The stockers look like they would hang too low & get hung up on stuff. I bought a tow hook for a Jeep but the only place I can see putting it is attached to the frame under the bumper (may mess with my aproach angle a little) or inside the frame rail & then cut a hole in my bumper for access. Some guys are cutting holes in there bumper and using the CUCV mounts & shackles. Anyway I would rather not chop my bumper up. Any Ideas? Anyone had problems with stockers?

i got mine from a peterbilt and drilled out a rivet on the front leaf spring mount thing and the hole for the bumper lined right up. reamed them to 11/16 and it worked like a charm and is BEEFY. it doesnt hit my bumper at all and theres about 3 inches between them.

you can kind of see it here, its on the pass side by the plate.

Thanks for posting the photo. I just went out to see if that would work for me & it looks like a possibility. My hook maybe a little larger than yours but it may work.

my 84 did not have them either

I got a pair from a 1985 that I put on my 1984 and they bolted up just fine. My rig is stock so I am not concernded about approach angles. When i got my tow hooks they did not come with the bolts, however the bolts that were already there, they held part of the bumper and a bracket to the bumper, (i think that is how they went) went on fine. I have a extra pair of hooks and the bumper brackets if you want them, cheap plus the ride, let me know, good luck:D
