Thought I'd share what I made... figured I wasn't the only one needing tow points on the front of the OBS trucks...

I milled two blocks out of stainless steel and drilled two holes to line up with the holes in the front of the frame...
Then flipped it on the other side and milled the end down (to fit a D-Ring) and drilled a hole to fit the bolt...

It's bolted together using all Grade 8 bolts and works like a charm...

Looks nice. Did your truck not come with the factory ones or did you just want to replace them? Why the use of a nut and bolt on the shackle instead of using the threaded pin?

The truck didn't have the factory hooks when I bought it...

I'm using the Grade 8 bolt instead of the tapered and threaded pin just because of size... I would of had to use a bigger block in order to drill a hole big enough for the pin to go through...

The plan is to drill holes through the end of the bolts and use codar pins instead of nuts so it'll be quick to pull in and out but this works for now.

You 2 have come so far in your E-relationship. A couple of years ago, it would have been far more harsh then this. Have you softened up a bit?:haha:

Looks nice Avery, but I think the stock hooks are a bit more versatile for just quickly slipping a strap over it. I guess that is some kind of lock nut on the bolt? I would be afraid it would work loose over time.

Yeah like I said the nut is temporary (for our last trip)...

I agree that the hooks are easier to toss a strap on but this isn't a trail rig... so the times I need to actually pull this thing out will be few and far between. Basically what I'm saying is I don't mind taking an extra second to undo the D-Ring and slide a strap in.

The recovery points on the k10 are/will be a different story. :)

Looks nice. I like it better then the hooks because the strap can't slip off easy, and no one can easily steal your shackles without tools. :waytogo::waytogo:

Avery isnt the same guy that he was when he first joined, he has learned a lot. However if he does some of the dumb stuff that he did back then, dont worry I will be sure to give him grief.

I honestly like what he has done here, just get rid of those nuts and bolts so you can actually use the shackle and it would be a damn good recovery point.
