Sorry to say, but those are '88 and newer bodied truck style hooks.

sorry x2 , the factory ones for the 70's were round without the flat edges . I have a set at home .
Agreed. Even though they look like a "J", they don't look anything like whats posted above.

BTW, I have 2 sets of them. :D

Well, if they line up, use them. Just don't be surprised if they bend back or straighten out as those hooks are designed to bend, or "give" so there's no shock to the frame when a jerk has occurred.

nevermind they dont and the hook is like a 1/4 of an inch off of the leaf spring. i could modify them but i dont think the saws-all is cutting threw these things

Depends on where you got them at I guess. Some junkyards take returns, others dont. If you got them online, it would all be up to the seller.

the 73-80 hooks are getting a TON of money on ebay. I have seen them sell for $100-$200 a pair when they are all cleaned up and painted. I was looking to put them on my 78 stepside, but price was outta control and no local j/y's had em. If I had'em I'd sell'em!

Ah yea, your most likely screwed as far as getting your money back. :doah: Unless the guy is cool, but I doubt it.
Only thing left to try is to tell the seller it was listed wrong for the years. Let the seller know he made a mistake and the hooks won't work for your application. If he offers to take them back, great. If not, tough. Sell them on eBay and find the correct ones you want.

$5.00 more and you could of had an unmesureable amount of information at your fingertips, pictures and forums that you can't explore now! OH, but those overpriced, wrong year, towhooks are nice too.

I thought they were right i am really pissed at myself. i learned the hardway i guess:doah:

but i suppose a deal is a deal

We've all been there to learn one way or another. Trust me, I've been there too many times to count.

I'd put those hooks on a newer IFS Chevy/GM site and see if you can get more than what you paid for them.
Or just list them on eBay and hope for more, too.

i will go see a friend of mine he knows alot of people with trucks and i will go from there i guess.

could someone post up a pic of the correct 70's style tow hook? so i dont f**k up agian
