I put an add up on craigslist Took me 5 months to find em' but well worth it. They only set me back $25

Good call. The '81-up ones are just not the same ... and the cheapo aftermarket ones are flimsier. Those things are just beef :D

Though when you buy/build a real bumper you'll want real shackle, so the straps can't fall off, but more than once I have applied much force to seemingly immovable objects with those tow hooks :haha:

Eh?

Oh, no, I just meant the straps fall off the hooks 'cuz they're open-ended, as opposed to a real shackle that's closed.

I had a set of those tow hooks on my '74 and later on my '77, did just fine.

ya I got that, sorry for the confusion, I am jsut lettin you know

I think a little quick thinking , some on hand junk metal , and a little paint , can produce a little springy clip to keep the straps on there .
