Tow points on front with stock bumper?

At the moment I wrap a tow strap around the front spring hangers /forums/images/icons/frown.gif I don't really want to drill holes in the frame right now because I will be putting on a front tube bumper sometime and don't want to have the frame horn look like swiss cheese.

You can use 2nd gen tow hooks...the ones that point down.

I purchased the tow hooks with spring retainer and bolted them on the frame rail under my bumper. Here are some pictures.

I put a piece of 1/2" x 4" steel plate between the frame rails and bolted the hooks to it. I drilled out one of the spring hanger rivets for a 3/8" bolt and put a 5/8" bolt in a hole that was all ready in the frame in between to the spring hanger rivets. I also welded a chain link to it and bolted a chain to my hood latch so I can chain my hood shut. I'll see If I can get some pics.

A couple of pieces of 1/2 inch steel bolted to the frame hanging just below the bumper with clevis attatchments - hardly realize they're there

I've got a 2" hidden hitch installed up front...found me a tow hook that slides into the receiver and *voila*
