hey guys, my 97 powerstroke is due for tires. sees plenty of highway and the occasional dirt roads... it is a 265/75/r16. What do you guys suggest for a reasonably priced tire?

I run 35x12.50x17 BFG KM2's on my '99 Powerstroke. I absolutley love them. They have been great in the rain, snow & ice. This is my DD and tow rig. No mud experience yet, but don't expect them to let me down. The stronger sidewalls sure help the truck corner better.

On our tow rig for the RV lot I always buy 10 ply tire. Holds up better for hauling 5th wheels and TT's and of course cars. Other then that we've tried quite a few tires but only 10 ply's have the lasting power for what we do. It's a 96 ford diesel.

i am contemplating putting bfg km2's 305/70r16's on my 2001 dodge quad cab 4x4 diesel. i have gy mtr's 285/75r16's on it now.

Michelin LTX AT2 for the win!

I had the LTX ms tires on my Sub, the are a very high milage tire. The new at2 takes the high milage and gives it some nice tread.

Next on the list that i have seen and heard people run is the bridgestone dueler

i have seen more people get super ride and mileage from bfg at than most any other tire out there. and thay 90% of the time buy another set when thay are gone. and if you keep up on rotation and no smoke shows and good alignment 45-50k miles is not a problem.

the Michilin ltx is double that. The set on the burb had over 75k on them and still had life when I added on some bigger bfg's.

You can, "and many people do" push these to 100k

I put a set of goodyear wrangler silentarmor's on my 2500 cummins 2 years ago, i got them on a 4 for 3 sale and came with a 80,000 km tread life warranty, i could stab them with a knife and get a new one. they see logging roads and lease roads fairly often and I tow my 22 foot flat deck with the blazer on it regularly, I barely notice any wear.

they arent the greatest " offroad" tires, (i got stuck in some sand at the beach a few weeks back) but as far as gravel, logging roads and mild rocks are concerned they are great. and they have a kevlar band instead of steel ( I think) and are super quiet on the highway and ride much better than my last set of rubber.
oh and mine are 285/75/r16... thats my vote.

Michelin hands down, have them on the deuce and the daily. You pay a little more, but get twice the tire. I vote for the M/S's cause i dont do a whole lot of dirt driving in the deuce, but the daily does better than my blazer in the sand???

michelins have a bad problem about dry rotting depending on where you live in the country.....

I like the BFG AT, the Goodyear Silent Armor, or Nitto Dura-Grappler......
