Towing A K5 Flat

I Want To Tow My K5 With A Tow Bar, But I Heard Thats Bad On The Tranfercase Because It Doesn't Get Proper Lubrication Without The Transmmision Powering It. How True Is This? I Want To Tow It About 600 Miles Round Trip.

take off your rear drive shaft?
but the lube thing, it spins either way, so i dont see how it gets better lube one way over the other

I have also heard to shift your transfer case into Neutral........not too sure about it though maybee someone else will have some more info.

some parts would still spin, not sure if it would need cooling though

id just pull the shafts. maybe find a way to plug the tcase if you've got a slip yoke.
