Towing with a detroit

While I should be finishing buying parts to turbo my 6.2 I am thinking about adding a locker to the dana 70. I did some searches and I still am unsure. Does my 82 dually have a dana 70 or a 70hd? Will it have a split carrier for the cheap detroit? Should I just finish the Turbo and leave it open for towing? Why does money always burn a hole in my pocket?

You're welcome. That locker won't help you go any faster when I am following you up those hills in Eastern Kansas.

Assuming you have a pick up dually and not a cab & chassis, you'll have a d70hd.

As for the split case, most likely not. The full case Detroit for that axle is close to (if not over) $600!
