Anyone of pros and cons for towing with one ton axle / springs and 4" blocks? Thats gonna be my temp set up for now till I can do either a shackle flip or 1 ton springs... Biggest thing I'm worried about is will it be safe to tow a large load with blocks. Its going to be towing a k5 on a trailer.

thx

There are no pros for towing with blocks.

As long as the u-bolts are tight you will be fine. If the u-bolts get loose the block will get spit out and things will break.

Dodge and Ford use blocks on their trucks from the factory and don't seem to have too many issues with them (though the u-bolts are correctly tightened at the factory).

I regularly tow a 22' car trailer loaded with atvs with my Suburban on 4" rear blocks. I've been using this setup for about 4 years now.

As 38377k5 said, Dodge and Ford have, and still do, been using rear blocks for many years. Even GM's had them, too, in the older trucks. I know of trucks back in the 50's that ran rear blocks.
