I towed my double axle 1962 SILVER STREAK travel trailer down to the scales today and was surprised by how much its 24 feet weighed, 5,000 lbs and dissapionted by the way the 86/K5 (350 /700r tranny cooler/ weight distrubution hitch/sway control/ brake control) handled it at 65 mph:crazy: . It was not real bad ....a little sway..a little wooble. I stayed in drive so the rpms were a bit high and the water temp reached 230 after 20 min.
I would like to go about 500 miles mostly flat land next month but this short trips seemed a bit of work for me and the old 86/k5. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks, Fourbyfourforfun
