My buddy has a 1988 toyota rv with the pickup cab. It is the 22RE motor. The fuel pump relay is only putting out 10.3 volts to the fuel pump. We already tried a new relay and it is the same thing. Anyone know what the problem could be?

He drove it out to another friends house and the next morning it wouldnt start. Cranks fine and has spark but I believe the problem is the voltage to the pump. It should be at 12 volts correct? Any help would be very appreciated, I know this is a chevy forum but it would help me cuz I am the one trying to fix it for him :D:doah:

Check the conections to the realy and the grounds in the truck.

well couldnt quite figure out which part of the wiring it was so we rigged it to get it home :D. Ended up running a wire from the headlights to the fuel pump so it would be on a relay and be switchable. Worked great, now we just have to figure out if it is the MAF, EFI relay or the circuit operating relay. Toyotas are weird!

The most common issue is chaffed wiring in the efi. harness, alot of times it is the o2 sensor wiring. The engine grounds also fail with age as well, yotatech.com has alot of info on this subject. Hope this helps
