TPI on a 78 BBC

TPI was never made for BBC's stock. TBI was made for BBC's. A BBC TBI setup will swap onto a 78 BBC with work. There is lots of info on it here. Your fuel system will need to be changed up, a wiring harness for the TBI will need to be added, along with other stuff.

If you want multiport fuel injection like a TPI setup on a SBC you can get aftermarket kits from Holley, Edelbrock, Arizona Speed and Marine, and others.
Some people are swapping in Mercruiser Multiport FI in off BBC's in boats. Seems to work pretty well.
