How complicated is the wiring system for late model bbc motors. Do I need the wiring harness from the vehicle it came from or can I build one? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

First off, there were no BBC TPI motors. I don't think there was/is (maybe something new?) anything BBC that is stock EFI except TBI and Vortec.
Yes, you need the harness off the donor vehicle, or you need an aftermarket one. A few people have done the Vortec swap on this board, perhaps they can chime in. By no means is it an easy swap, I guarantee. Not physically hard probably, just the time to figure out and route all the wiring.

Yeah, I got a little mixed up between the tpi and tbi. I meant tbi, so I need to do my homework. If I figuer out the harness from a manual or something then hopefully I could patch the new harness into the old one. Any one done this?
