I've got kind of an oddball idea and I need a variable resistor to do it.

Does anyone know what the range of resistance is on a TPS sensor (in ohms) and what the approximate amount of rotation (in degrees) is of the input shaft?..... I'm guessing it's probably 90 degrees since that would allow for the throttle blades to go from fully closed to wide open.

Anyone ever test one with a multimeter to see what the ohm range is? :dunno:

A typical TPS has a range of around 1.3k - 4.9k ohms and will swing at least 90 degrees when not connected to a throttle shaft, may have a slightly wider resistance range as well.

You're closer than you think......

Greg, take your thinking cap off, do you ever want to get this blazer done? :D

Yeah no kidding..... people seem to forget that it's the journey not the destination that matters most.

My whole LIFE is an adventure! :saweet:

The truck will go to Moab when all of the design ideas in my head are finally incorporated into the build. If it's not ready for 2010 (which is getting pretty obvious) then I'll shoot for 2011.... it's not that big of a deal to me.

I'm in this hobby to have fun, and to me building the truck IS fun. Some guys hate the planning or building process and are only satified when they're on the trail (or trailer!). Personally, I believe I'm getting a lot more out of this hobby than most, because I see the entire process as enjoyable and not just the end result.
