Trac Loc Posi and Hub question

I am swapping my Dana 44 out of the trail rig and into my Blazer to replace the 10 Bolt. My question is, the 44 doesn't have the selectable hubs like the 10 bolt does, only the pop in caps. It also has a trac loc posi. Am I going to have issues running it this way on the road since I can't unlock the hub? If that's the case, what would be my best option? Can I could salvage the hub assembly off the 10 bolt or are they not interchangeable?

I'm hope there is some other reason for swapping these axles besides that it is a D44.

Trac-lok's are pretty weak, especially after a few miles. If it was run in a D44 with no locking hubs then the clutches would always be wearing during turns.

The 10 bolt is geared way too high with I believe 2.72's. The D44 has 3.73's. I also have another 10 bolt front with 3.73's. It too has the caps, so I'd still have to change the hubs, but would that be a better route than the D44 with the trac loc? Or would it be easier to just swap out the gears between the 10 bolt in it now and my spare?
