Thanks for the help on the temp gauge wire, I'm just starting another thread for any general wires I need help with.

I've got a green and yellow wire, dropping down out of the harness around the driver's valve cover, not very long, maybe only about a foot or so after it comes out of the harness, red gm style plug on the end. Its been dangling down on the exhaust and has melted the plug. Need to know what this is, and if I need it.
Also, as a side note, the electrical connection on top of the carb is gone, don't know what that wire looked like or where it came from. I don't think this wire is quite long enough to reach the carb.
