if your goin to be driving it on the street and you got the money for a air locker thats what i would go with and save your tires....i got a spool and drive mine on the street on occasions and i go thru tires pretty quick...but if you got a trailer queen do spool or detroit locker.

Detroit are fine for street driving and i have busted one its really your choice i have been thinking arb myself lately

Keep the detroit and save your money for something else, I have never found a need to want to unlock my rear axle

welded. Stop turning.:D

It's a trailer queen.

agreed.. leave what you have in the rear and arb the front. although you may find a selectable for the front where you don't need the compressor and air lines.. etc. dont know if ected (electronic) or ox (cable driven) has one for the 60.

to the top . any other input?

i got a buyer for the detroit and spicer posi for the 60. then i have 400 in parts i need to deliver and get the cash.

realy itchin to be arb both ends. what you think ?

all axles open now . no gears or anything yet.

thats why my choices.

as to more = more problems thats life. pay to play.

Other Idea:
open rear and cutting brakes

would be a pain since would be grabbing brakes often but its a different idea.

If you are getting rid of the Detroit then go ahead and ARB both. If the ARB is set up correctly it will more then likely outlast the truck. A friend of mine runs ARB's front and rear and they were set up back in 2001 and not a single issue with them to this day. They are in a Jeep and probably have at least 50K on them. I will be doing the same thing at some point and going to ARB's front and rear with cutting brakes. I will actually be running the cutting brakes on the Detroit first which should work fine too.

I'd say if you have the money go for the arb's. Ive been running detroits front and rear for 7 years now. The rear is no problem on the pavement. Its the front that sucks. I would go with detroit in the rear and arb in the front.

Definitely Detroit rear. Strong as hell and extremely dependable.

well i went and ordered a arb front and rear .

sorry i went against the poll. but with the way i run and have run in the past with open diff and detroit diff .

i picked the selectable open/locked arb unit for my deal.

will post pics in the build thread when installed and then writeup on how i like them.

thanks for the info on your side and other spec tech people i talked to side. :D
