Well the 700R locked up in my 84K5 this week. After 2 years of being a DD and weekend warrior the trans pretty much locked up. The truck didnt really owe me anything so I figured it was time to part with it.

My buddy had a 88 that he didnt want anything to do with it. So we traded straight up, he kept his tires(35s) and I kept mine(33s).

The 88 needed a front drive shaft, I had a rebuilt one layin around off my old sub. So tossed it on as well.

Dunno what Ill do with it, prob just end up selling it as I have no use for it as well.

It must have been a real nice show truck at one time, has shaved door handles, wired for stereo/dual batteries, and yes a moon visor with functioning lights:rolleyes:. Has rancho air shocks at all 4 corners and quad shocks up front.

Not much of a fan of the Euro tails, they seem kinda chatchy to me.

Has a healthy 350/700R, has rear posi of some kind. Its def not a gov lock, works way better. I suspect 3.08 gears as it seems to have lots of top end.

Anywho, that is all.

looks like a good trade to me.and with efi upgrade.and a tranny the works.id say you came out ahead.

forgot to mention, I know the guy who originally bought it. They put a rebuilt carb'd 350 in.

i say you did pretty good still.if it was built right, you should be good for awhile.taking the efi out kinda sucks but if it runs good and is legal to have a carb in there,no biggie.

Ya it seems alright. Both trucks need ball joints, they both leak the about the same amount of oil and have about the same amount of rust and bondo :rolleyes::haha:

So what was the point of trading for you or for him? I'm confuzzled...

both of you had K5's with issues that you didn't want, so you traded problems?

Well thats the short story, I have come to the realization that having 3 trucks and a car is one to many vehicles :D

I was thinking of parting the 84 out as it wasnt worth much, so I asked my buddy if he wanted anything off it. He said make me a deal on it and the rest is history as they say.
