Hello,

I am considering spending $$$$ on the trailworthy FAB Beadlocks. I biggest question is what backspacing would I need for a stock K30 1986 truck. Ive done some research but im thinking 3.5 inches and I want to keep my backspacing so the wheel does not stick outside the body. I am going to run military take off hummmer tires as well. Going 6 inch lift

Opinions on tires much appreciated as well, mostly going to be on highway alot, im thinking of the Goodyear MT not the MTR or BFG Baja for wear....................

2nd: Is there powdercoating good? Im looking to spend what I consider some coin, before I blow 1200 on recondition hummer wheels, are they worth it? Also 12 bolt or 24 bolt beadlocks?!?!?!?!?!

Thanks for your input.......................

I think 4" of bs will keep you in the fenders, 3.5 would probably stick out.

I've bought and sold and ran a ton of hummer pull offs. I prefer the BFG's. They all wear like iron, but the BFG just seems to be a better tire. This coming from someone who hated BFG before ending up with a set of baja's out of a lot of tires. My buddy has a set of their wheels on his dodge and the powdercoat still looks great.

24 bolts look cooler, but who wants to pull 24 bolts out of a wheel to take it apart? Not me.

:truck: Thanks, for the reply, The only problem is that going with 3.5 back spacing you get the run the "dish" hub with the wheel they sell with the 3.5inch backspacing. then it goes to the flat center section for any other backset.

Does anyone have a set they are running on a one ton to show the offset with 3.5 or the 4 inch backspacing? Thanks

I have had my 12 bolt re-centered H1's from TrailWorthyFab for the last year. Dished centers at 3.5" backspacing. I freaking love them. I didn't do the powder coating, just spray painted them myself. I don't think 3.5 sticks out too much, I think it looks great. Look at my build thread in my sig. Can't remember which page they are on, but I have a bunch of pics of the rims with my 38.5 TSL SX's

12-bolts are fine, you don't need the 24s. As for tires, I ran the Goodyear MTs on my old m1009 for several years. I think I got about 50,000 miles on a used set. Could have went longer but winter was coming and I found a local guy selling a fresh set for cheap

What's the state of your build? Could you run dually width and skip the recentering of the wheels?

I think the stamped centers are better than the flat and the wheel just seems to go together "right" at 3.5" with them. I wouldn't go flat just to move the tire in 1/2" - will it really make much difference in tire clearance and dirt up the sides of the truck?

You can always run wheel spacers instead of going through the trouble of recentering. I got a set of 2" spacers from a member on here so that I could run stock hummer wheels and didn't have to worry about having them recoated.
