Im guessing weight reduction and just to show off there product. In that 2nd picture, what is the point of the rear doors having the clear skins when they kept the inner steel part of the door?
I get showing off the product. But you could just leave the outer skin and cut most of the inner outIm guessing weight reduction and just to show off there product.
I'm kind of OCD so in that first pic I would glue on the door trim to match the fender and bedside. These are kinda neat! Wonder if they can be painted.

Umm the point is that you can see through them=no paint! I wonder what material they are made from? If it's the AR polycarbonate stuff I bought for my side x side windshield from a plastics place that does vacuum forming like that then they should hold up well for scratches and visibility.
Gutted out factory doors are real light. Mine barely weighed anything. Would have been even better if I ever turned them into half doors. Do the hinge pin mod and you don't have to worry about aligning themMeh, visibility doesn't do everyone much good.
But if I could have doors when its windy and pop them off in a second camping at the dunes, that would be sweet! Especially not needing to hold a heavy door and align it etc.
Those are the nice things bad drivers like me cant have.
