Trailbody Plastic Door Skins

Umm the point is that you can see through them=no paint! I wonder what material they are made from? If it's the AR polycarbonate stuff I bought for my side x side windshield from a plastics place that does vacuum forming like that then they should hold up well for scratches and visibility.

If it is a polycarbonate or lexan like RC car bodies then you could paint the inside. That would help to keep the paint on.

In that 2nd picture, what is the point of the rear doors having the clear skins when they kept the inner steel part of the door?

Just another option. Im sure many will think its silly.

Good way to shave weight. Hell could build some light weight aluminum tube structures behind them, paint them, and have half doors you can put on or remove with your pinky...

Meh, visibility doesn't do everyone much good.

But if I could have doors when its windy and pop them off in a second camping at the dunes, that would be sweet! Especially not needing to hold a heavy door and align it etc.

Gutted out factory doors are real light. Mine barely weighed anything. Would have been even better if I ever turned them into half doors. Do the hinge pin mod and you don't have to worry about aligning them

True.

But as more trucks get smashed up that's going to be harder to do. So I just think its cool people are making alternative options.

I think it’s kinda cool , paint them to match on the inside and make them fit a set of Kert’s Tube doors for structure .

You could get fancy and engrave something cool on them and then light up the logo.

US Body source makes full fiberglass doors. $900 for the pair or $800 for some kind of semi-custom race weight doors.
