Any one know of a good trailer brake controller to use? I need to be able to stop with my 6000 lb blazer on a trailer.

thanx for the input.

I use the Reese Brake controller from Kragen. It does me just fine. It cost about $50. I usually end up towing everyone else's K5's around with my Suburban. It's not the most fancy but it's simple to use and hook up.

I got the 'Voyager' as well. It works great and the install was straight forward. I tow a 5000 lb trailer with my Jimmy.

Go with the Voyager. I tow a 7000 lb travel trailer with my short box 1/2 ton. Works great. Stay away from the brakeman style controller junk. The coolest controller i saw used input from the brake peddle. It had a cable that went from the peddle to the controller. I found it on the internet cannot rember who makes them but the idea is good. No level or gain to set.

I use a DrawTite activator II,it's solid state, small, simple to use and is good for up to 3 braking axles,The Reese Model is the same product under the reese name.I think it was about $100
