I bought the widest car hauler available (in my area) and the room between the fender wells was 82". With 1350 wide Iroks on the blazer, it could not squeeze in between (~85 inch width).

Some of my options were to use narrow tires to hual (it sucks changing tires everytime you load/unload), make supporting ramps to drive over the fenders (look weird), remove fenders, or clearance the fenders.

After seeing a u-haul trailer with a flip-out style fender, I used that as inspiration for my project:

I guess I had too much fun cutting the blazers fenders and had to find something else to cut!:grind:

But, unlike the blazer, I wanted to keep the fender to stop water, and debris from flying everywhere when towing, so I had to make it a convertable.

I did the same thing except I didnt bother to put the inner part of the fender back on at all...:haha:

That would have saved me a bunch of time!

That's a good idea. I went the other direction and built a tube ramp...

I tried something different that I haven't read about...
I bought (2) 2x10x10 treated boards, cut them in half, and doubled them up, stood them on their sides and thru bolted them to the fenders. It works, $25, and about an hours work. On my trailer the 2x10's are about 1/2" higher than the fender.

I was going trying to descide whether to make mine removable or to build a ramp system when I realized that my rear tires sit about 3 inches to far forward when loaded and would either still hit the fenders or be on the fender ramps placing it to high. Have to change tires every time I trailer it.
