This next summer I am up to transfer so we will be moving some where. I'm needing to find a trailer to move the blazer, dirtbikes, quads and all the fun toys.
My question is what yall prefer in a trailer and why, my tow rig is an 06 cummins short box.
I'm wanting a 20ft deck and enough capacity to not have to worry on the trip. Currently I'm looking at a big tex 14k gooseneck. I only want to buy a trailer once so lets hear every ones opinions on what they prefer in a trailer.

I don't think you'll have enough room on a 20'
Consider tiedown space and space between each vehicle on the trailer

hmmm, the bike and quad dont take much room to tie down tho. i know on the 18ft flatbed ive towed, with the blazer took up the marority of the room tied down.

I had a 10 foot big tex. I realize that your looking at a different animal. It was a great trailer except the wood all dry rotted out in 3 years. I replaced it all with pressure treated. You may want to look used, because when I sold mine it was better than new, but just couldn't bring the same $.

I'd go straight to the 10-14K rated trailers in a 20' AT LEAST size. gooseneck is great and then you might as well go a little bit longer like 24 or 28 deck.

Do note that to license a 14K trailer in Oregon you end up needing to 'T' plate your truck and pay on a yearly basis for your total combined weight. This is for hauling any trailer rated at over 8K that is not an RV. This also has nothing to do with it being 100% personal use only either. $764 for myself to be registered at 26K yearly in this freakin state.

I already know about oregons sweet fees:doah:. were you the one that had a 20 ft goose 2blazers? How did everything fit?

I had (HAD is the key word) a 20' gooseneck trailer that also had a 5' beavertail with fold over ramps and a center pop up so really about 25' long of deck space. You could squeeze the Blazer and two quads on it. Both quads side ways, one in front and one at the rear on the fold over ramps and center pop up. I had a Great Northern trailer and loved it.

I sold it when we switched to a Truck Camper for camping and sold my '05 Dodge with the gooseneck setup, we ended up spending the money on other stuff and so right now still don't have a flatbed trailer for hauling my K5. (my quads and RZR go in a 20' enclosed trailer)

My plan has been to get a PJ 20' ''Buggy Hauler'' trailer rated for 10K. Just the stupid not wanting to pay the $$$$$ yet....

My 20' with a 2' beaver tail will haul my k30 and a golf cart with ease. Quads bikes and a blazer may look like the Beverly hillbillies but should be no problem.

Don't see how you could fit a Blazer along with quads and dirtbikes on a 20' deck. I have an 18' flatbed and could maybe get a dirtbike sideways on the front of the deck if I rearranged the tiedowns.

The nice thing about a bumper pull is you still have the pickup bed to haul stuff in. My buddy has a setup where he puts a quad in the bed of the pickup, hauls a dirtbike on a carrier that mounts sideways across the rear bumper, and then tows an 18' flatbed with his off-road truck on it.

If you want a big enough trailer to haul all of the stuff at once I would guess at least a 26' deck? In that case I would recommend a gooseneck. The downsides to this are a lot more money and finding a place to park the trailer (may or may not be an issue depending on where you live), and of course having to lug around that much trailer if you just need to take the quads some place.

That's what I'm thinking, like everyone said, definitely not nearly enough room. Good call on the bumper pull/still being able to use the bed of the truck. But even then, only the bikes in the bed or one quad.

So a bigger trailer and a gooseneck. You know, might piss the guy off, but bring your chit and and say I need a trailer to hold all this. Whichever one I can put it all on and strap it down on I'll buy :D

The one I'm looking at is 20ft deck plus a 5ft beaver tail with ramps. My quad can go on the beaver tail and a bike up front I think.

I own a 22ft tilt deck and wouldn't trade it. It is 4 ft of metal up front and then 18 of wood tilt deck. I've had my truck with a kawasaki mule on the front with no problem, and some room on the back. I bought some #3 phillips self tapers and put two in every board at each brace az soon as I got it home. Also I use my old diesel oil as my deck stain. Boards are 7 years old and still going strong. A buddy used tranny fluid for a red look instead of my black look, his looks pretty sharp. Both hold up way better than any deck stain crap.

I have an 18' Carson (tow behind, dovetail, ramps store underneath), and I hauled a Suburban and an LTZ400 on it from Palmdale to Coos Bay last year. Quad was sideways and crammed against the burb with tires under the burb bumper(cut fenders on the quad). After having flipover ramps on my 30' gooseneck, I won't get those on another trailer. If I get another GN, I'll just make ramps that drop in like stakesides when not in use.

I suppose the ?? is how many dirt bikes ,quads and fun toys you really talking about. I have a 20ft car trailer and I can put the Blazer and 1 dirt bike and 1 quad OR 3 bikes

I think I should have plenty of room on the deck. I can fit both my quad and bike in my short bed so I should be able to cram them in.
