trailer people, need some help!

My dad and I bought this trailer recently. We figured it would need new brakes but I have no idea what kind of braking system this is, I don't see anywhere to buy replacement parts. Can someone give me the name of this system or point me in the rite direction? Thanks.

Will have info for converting to a newer backing plate/brakes and replacing them as well.
Have any numbers on the axles? Perhaps on the brakes or drum even.

I'm not positive since I can't see the back side but I think those are magnetic brakes

daaaaa. most trailer brakes are magnetic to activate.

but 10 years as a mechanic i havent seen any like that.

when i bought my trailer it had a bad bearing and bad brakes n one axle . it was an old mobile home axle looked similar to yours . the cost of replacing the spindle and the brakes to newer ones ( couldnt find the old ones exactly ) was close to a new axle from spindle to spindle. I bought a dexter 6k axle assembly for a little over 300.

I would have that's a big chunk of the magnet missing. I'm sure they'll kick on when energizer but, that's one
big old magnet!
