im looking at getting a trailer frame for real cheap. the only problem is, that its just that, a frame. someone striped it, all the wires and everything. its a dual axle with brakes on both axles. my question, is there any kind of module or anything to wire the brakes or do the wires just go straight from the wheels to the plug? and the lights too?

all i need to know is if the wires that are comming from the hubs for the brakes go directly to the plug at the hitch or do they go through some kind of module first?

another q.. i noticed on my trailer tongue, it says 7000lb vert wt. im guessing that stands for 7000lb vertical weight? what does that mean?

No, im guessing its total weight the frame can hold, ie the weight of the vechicle.

well thats whats kinda confusing me. the title says 5000gvw, but the tongue says 7000 vert wt.... so im guessing the axles are only good for 5000, but with heavier axles, the frame itself can take 7000?

a breakaway kit is a good thing to have. also the tongue may be rated for more then your trailer, thats not uncommon since they make 3 different size balls to cover all trailers.

yeah, thats waht i figured since its a 2 5/16 ball. im pretty sure it already has the break-away thing on it. im not to familiar with trailers, but there is a thing on the tongue that has two wires groing from it and a small braided steel wire that pulls a plunger on the other side. would that be it?
