Honestly I think hanging around on local bulletin boards and going on semi organized runs is a much better value. Doing just that I've found so many trails around here that I otherwise wouldn't know about.

I hear fom a source of mine that a database for people to mark and describe various trails is in the works elsewhere but being built by someone on this board... hmmm, can't wait.
