Tranny adjustment

My 700R4 really jumps into gear hard when shifting into drive or into reverse from park or neutral. I was told that "the cable" probably needs to be adjusted. What does that mean. Is there anything I can adjust on this thing or do I need to take it to the tranny shop to get it done?

You're talking about the TV cable. I messed with mine but caused even more drama so I ended up taking it into the shop. They set it up right for free so it was worth the trip.

What is your idle set at?? Mine used to do that and it was because my idle was to high and it would put a shock load on the drivetrain, if your idle is fine then you need to get a tranny pressure guage to properly adjust your T.V cable.

I idled the carb down because it started idleing way to fast after goin muddin yesterday (see my other post http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1207618#post1207618) now it doesnt jump into gear like before. I think that might be what the problem was.
