Haven't dug into it yet, but when I drove my blazer on Sunday for the first time in several weeks, the tranny level was low. Added a little over a qrt and was good to go. This morning I noticed fluid that had dripped out the rear of the t-case output. Now I am wondering, am I possibly getting tranny fluid leaking through into my t-case? When I bought it, it was dripping oil our the shaft as well, and when I pulled the cone to see if the seal was bad, I got an oil bath since it was full. After I drained it, refilled to the proper level, and drove it on a routine basis, I didn't see this issue reoccure. Now after sitting a while, it's back. Any ideas? It's a turbo 400 with a 208 tcase.

It could very well have a bad t-case input seal. Mine started leaking on me about 5 years ago and when i pulled the t-case the seal was hard as a rock and cracked. It's pretty easy to drop the t-case and install a new front seal.

Ok... I have the same problem, I posted up about it a while back and got the same answer. I pulled my NP241 replaced all 3 seals, reinstalled and I'm still having the leak problem. My slip yoke tail shaft is cracked and I realize that is part of my problem but if that was all then it should have leaked out of the TC and eventually stopped... but it seems my tranny fluid level is slowly dropping as well...

I've got a new tail shaft, just gotta install it. The only thing I can think of, is that when I got the new TC input seal, it wasn't double lipped like the old one. But I checked with two different brand names and parts stores and they both looked identical. I'm kind of at a loss here.

I'm going to the dealer ship to see if they have a seal that has a lip on both sides like the original one did.

You can use the single lip seal but you'll need to install 2 of them, one goes in backwards then the other normal to get the double lip effect.

In case you're wondering how you're going to get 2 seals in place of where one came out, the single lip seal is about half as thick as the original double lip seal.

When installing the seal did you install it with the lip towards the tranny or t-case?

It was actually labeled, "This side out" or something to that affect... I don't really remember... and pulling it is sort of a tedious job... I'm kinda depressed now.:o :haha:

I'll check that out. I've actually got two trannies I am selling this weekend that I have to remove the t-case on since they aren't going with on the deal. The trannies are 700's, but both cases are the 208's. So'll I'll have to see what that seal looks like in them so I know what to expect when I pull the one out of the blazer. I was hoping that if wasn't anything major. Or if it was, I was hoping it was t-case related since I have those two spares, and not a turbo 400 issue.
