I have the Derale stacked plate 40 row with fan and it's too big to place in front of radiator. Was looking else Ware and the only place would be under the bed of my 87 blazer. Has anyone mounted there tranny cooler there? Had any problems? Located right over pinion of rear end.

Unless you shroud it somehow, I would think it’s To susceptible to damage there .
Why so big?
I run a 11x9 stacked cooler after the radiator cooler, just like GM has used for years.

With a fan I’ve seen them located under the bed however those were street/tow trucks. If the rig is used Offroad then other concerns arise.

And I agree with what @76zimmer noted above and my derale cooler is setup the same way with a stand alone fan.

why so big ?
what temps are you seeing with out it ?
were is the temp sensor ?

to much cold fluid is almost as bad as to hot a fluid . they do need to warm up and let the fluid work .

i run my k30 with the sensor in the remote filter housing on the hot line out from trans . when i plow snow i plow in 4-low and use a 8ft fisher plow there commercial rated beefy units . i run stock rad cooler only and my fluid don't get in to the yellow except every so often if i get crazy with the truck . if i was to do a extra cooler i would also do a thermostatic valve to let fluid bypass it until up to the hot temp it needs to be at or more then it would open and be cooled extra .

When you plow isn’t the ambient temperature freezing?

if i plow in high the temps can go way up in the yellow . and yes there cold outside . but the radiator its going threw is at min 195* with the t-stat in the egine and water to water heat transfer keeps both of them working a lot .

there has been long debates on this here in the past and most people go way overboard on the cooling they think they need as to what they really need .

and i work this truck in the summer also and my temps do around the same ranges even when its 90* or so outside . towing trailers / hauling some dirt / big loads of scrap metal to the scrap yard / trail rides at my buddys land in the fields and woods .
