Tranny filter question!

My transmission makes a jolt when I put it in gear from park to reverse then from reverse to drive. I cheaked the fluids and it seems fine. Would it be a good idea to change the fluid and put in a new filter. The tranny is a 700r4.

Definately can't hurt, but what you are feeling is either play in the rear pinion gear or a bad U-joint.

I think the line pressure is high to begin with on those trans. My 85 did it from day 1, and I only got 240,000 before the pump let go.

ONLY 240,000?? Only?? That's a bloody miracle out of a 700R4!
