Tranny Fluid Change

I need to change the transmission oil in my k5. It has a turbo 400.

What type of oil should I use and how much? I searched but couldn't find a solid answer.

One person suggested 3 gallons, does this seem right?

sounds like that could be about right. my 4l60e (94 c1500) took 11 quarts after a full drain.

yeah, if you completely drain the transmission, 11-12 qts, but not sure what exactly you want to do, if you just want to drop the pan and replace the filter, then it's about 5 qts.
